How Much Fire Glass Do You Need?

Plan for 2–3 inches of depth to cover your burner. As a general guide:

Round Fire Pits

  • 18" diameter → ~20 lbs
  • 24" diameter → ~30–40 lbs
  • 30" diameter → ~50–60 lbs
  • 36" diameter → ~80 lbs

Square or Rectangular Fire Pits

Multiply inside length × width (in inches), divide by 20, then round up to the nearest bag.

Quick Tips

  • Glass should sit 1–2" above the burner for even gas flow
  • Don't overfill — too much glass weakens the flame

The Outdoor Plus fire glass and media is sold in 25 lb bags. HPC fire glass is sold by the pound with a 10 lb minimum order.
